How beautiful are these candies? When you thinly slice a blood orange, sprinkle with sugar and spice, and then bake low and slow, the result is a gorgeous sweet candy reminiscent of stained glass! Gobble up for a sweet afternoon snack, or gift wrap and give as a present to someone special!
What (your ingredients): 3 blood oranges 1 tablespoon brown sugar, lightly packed 2 teaspoons cinnamon
How (your directions):
Preheat oven to 200˚ F.
Line baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
Slice blood oranges as thinly as possible, with the rind on. Hint: as you continue to slice very thinly, the blood orange will become more and more difficult to slice. Simply throw these extra pieces into a pitcher with water and keep on hand for hydration! Infused water is much more fun than drinking plain water ;)
Lay slices flat onto baking sheet.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle each slice (mostly the rind) with the mixture.
Bake low and slow for 3 hours.
The finished product: a gorgeous citrus candy that looks like stained-glass!
Enjoy!
